First Mercury Financial Corp. Receives Financial Size Category Increase, “Positive” Outlook from A.M. Best Co.

A.M. Best recently announced a “positive” outlook on the rating of First Mercury Group and its members, while affirming the financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and Issuer Credit Ratings of “a- (Excellent)” of the company and its subsidiaries. First Mercury Insurance Company is the principal carrier for business written by CoverX Corporation, and now boasts a Financial Size Category (FSC) IX designation from A.M. Best Company. FSC IX applies to companies whose adjusted policyholder surplus totals between $250 million and $500 million.

The “positive” outlook and increase in FSC to IX will enhance the company's ability to meet the needs of agents and brokers in our ever-changing marketplace, particularly those clients faced with contractual requirements stipulating minimum allowable financial size requirements. CoverX hopes to be able to expand its business with clients for whom this has been an issue.
